As you opened the door to your local coffee shop, the strong aroma of cinnamon and vanilla struck your senses. As you look over the menu you thought of what you were going to get. Deciding on the (fav coffee drink) you walked up to the counter. You look over at the sign for the special of the day, and when you turned back you nearly jumped back in fright.

Standing in front of you was a tall, blonde man with glasses. Seeing as how he was a great deal taller than you he literally seemed to be towering over you. As you looked up at him you caught a glimpse of his name tag. Berwald. What a name. As you continued to look over him you noticed that he seemed to be wearing a button up shirt, black dress pants, and the usual long, black apron that all the workers wore.

"C'n I h’lp you?" you were quickly snapped out of your thoughts by his deep voice. He had such a strange accent. "Oh umm, yes please. I would like a (fav coffee drink)." you shyly spoke to him. "Wo'ld you l'ke a r'll w'th th't?" he calmly asked as he pressed some buttons on the register. With the accent it was a little bit hard to understand what he was saying but you made it out. "Umm, yes. That would be nice, thank you." he pressed another button then walked into what you thought was the kitchen.

When he returned he set a cup and plate down on the counter in front of you. You could smell the cinnamon scent coming from both of the food. You gave him a 10 and told him to keep the change as you picked up your things and went to sit at one of the window seats.

As you looked out at the wet rain that has been falling for a good hour now you took a bite out of the roll. You got a bit of the white frosting ok your nose. As you grabbed a napkin from the holder you couldn't help but feel the intense gaze of someone watching you. When you looked around the shop you noticed the worker staring at you with his steel blue eyes. You quickly wiped away the frosting and turned back around bringing up your hand to shield yourself more from his gaze. Geez that guy is scary as hell.

When you looked back out the window, you saw a familiar face. It was your best friend Tino. As he turned your way you waved. His face brightened and he waved back rushing over to the shop. As he walked in he walked over to the table that you were sitting at. “Hello [name]!” he spoke cheerily as he took a seat. “Hey Tino! How are you?” you curiously asked as he took off his hat and shook some of the water off.

“I’m good. Quite funny you came here, ya know?” you gave him a quizzical look, “Why is that?” he looked up to you. “My friend works here, you know the guy from Sweden I told you about?” you recalled Tino having told you about this guy, but for the life of you, you couldn’t remember his name. “Yeah, do you think he’s here right now?” you took a sip from your drink. He looked around the room then smiled and waved, as you look to the direction he was waving you noticed who he was waving at. He was that weird blonde guy behind the counter. As he noticed Tino’s excited wave he gave a small one in return and then walked into the kitchen.

When he returned he was holding a cup of coffee. He walked around the counter and toward your table. You leaned over the table towards Tino “T-that’s your friend?” you asked nervously, he nodded and looked up towards said man. “Hey Berwald~!” he scooted over and patted the spot next to him, symbolizing him to sit down. As he did he gave Tino the drink to which he thanked him and took a small sip. “Berwald, I’d like you to meet my friend [name]~!” he made a gesture toward you. Berwald looked over to you and nodded. You took another sip from your drink, the awkward silence setting in as Tino drank his own coffee.

“Well, so sorry to have to leave so quickly, but I have to get to work, good to see you both~” Tino said sweetly as he gave his cup back to Berwald and gave you both a hug before he leaved. As you waved goodbye, Berwald walked away, leaving you sitting alone again. As you turned to sit properly you noticed a small piece of paper sitting on the table in front of you. On the front said your name and as you picked it up and turned it over, there was something else.

‘give me a call: 555-746-8372
~Berwald'

You were shocked to say the least, you weren't entirely sure how to respond to this either. But you quickly stuffed the note into your pocket as you suddenly remembered why you were in this part of town. Exiting the coffee shop you looked back and caught a glance of the mysterious Swed, thinking to yourself 'I will call you' as you walked down the crowded sidewalk to your destination.
